Insulating barriers

Today, small-sized medium voltage switchgear is becoming increasingly popular. The reduction in switchgear dimensions is limited by insulation capabilities. For air-insulated switchgear, one of the solutions to this problem is the use of additional insulating barriers made of electrical fiberglass.

Our company offers the manufacture of insulating panels (barriers) and interphase barriers for medium voltage switchgear according to your drawings. The use of such panels allows significantly reducing the dimensions of switchgear, as well as saving on TGN.

Set of insulating barriers made of electrical fiberglass for 40.5 kV Switchgear Panel

example:

The barrier material is electrical fiberglass, similar to materials UPM 203, Durostone, Delmat, Durapol

Fiberglass of the UPGM 203 standard, a certified material, is manufactured by hot pressing of a glass mat impregnated with a binder solution based on polyester resin, dyes, and fillers.
Unlike traditional materials for manufacturing insulating barriers, such as textolite, polycarbonate, and others, the proposed fiberglass has the following advantages:
  • Low moisture absorption
  • Stable structural properties
  • Stable electrical properties
  • Tracking resistance
  • Flame retardant material
  • Resistance to alkalis, acids, oils, solvents
  • Wide range of operating temperatures - from -65°C to 155°C
  • Excellent machinability
