Infrared window for temperature control

An infrared window for temperature monitoring is a type of optical glass capable of transmitting infrared, ultraviolet, and visible light. It is installed on the external facades of cabinets and is mainly used to measure the temperature of various internal elements of MV and HV switchgears. The installation of an infrared window allows the use of an infrared thermal imager, which is widely used in power systems to determine the temperature of busbars, busbar connections, cable joints, etc., during maintenance, without opening doors and partially dismantling the switchgears. The use of an infrared window ensures personnel safety during temperature measurements, allows timely and effective detection of hidden dangers, and prevents accidents.

Design

The infrared window consists of a metal external flange with a built-in lens, a sealing gasket, and an internal nut flange. The connection of the internal and external flanges is threaded. The use of a rubber sealing gasket ensures IP67 protection class. The external flange is equipped with a sliding cover with a magnetic catch. The cover reliably protects the glass from dirt and mechanical damage.
